Downtown St. Catharines lies between Highway 406, Geneva Street, Welland Avenue and Niagara Street, right in the historic heart of the city. When you live Downtown, you’re only steps from major cultural and entertainment destinations. It’s home to the Meridian Centre, the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, and a growing mix of shops, boutiques, cafes, pubs and bistros.

I love walking Downtown, even in the winter. It’s compact and walkable, with beautiful architecture, historic buildings and older neighbourhoods that have long been some of the more desirable addresses in the city.

There are a handful of streets within the Downtown core where the houses are primarily residential. Many of these homes are historic and architecturally significant, with some converted into rental units. In recent years, some condominium buildings have been added for people looking for a more carefree, low‑maintenance lifestyle close to everything.
